MALAYSIA BRAND DAY 2026 OFFICIALLY OPENS LAUNCHING A NATIONAL MOVEMENT TO ELEVATE MALAYSIAN BRANDS

Malaysia’s first AI-powered branding exhibition brings together government, industry,  and entrepreneurs to strengthen brand competitiveness and national pride

KUALA LUMPUR, 8 January 2026 — Malaysia today marked a historic milestone with the official  opening of Malaysia Brand Day 2026, the nation’s first national, AI-powered branding exhibition and  movement, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

Endorsed by the Prime Minister’s Office and supported by multiple ministries and government  agencies, Malaysia Brand Day 2026 positions branding as a strategic national capability, aimed at  strengthening Malaysian enterprises — particularly SMEs — and fostering long-term economic  resilience through strong, trusted homegrown brands.

Held from 8–10 January 2026, the three-day event brings together over 100 Malaysian brands from 16  industries, alongside policymakers, investors, buyers, industry leaders, and the media, on one unified  national platform.

Branding as a National Imperative

In her keynote address at the opening ceremony, Datin Winnie Loo, President of the Branding  Association of Malaysia (BAM), described Malaysia Brand Day as more than an exhibition.

“Branding is not a luxury — it is a national necessity. Branding shapes trust, value, and how the world  sees us, not just as businesses, but as a nation. Malaysia Brand Day marks the beginning of a movement  to build brands that the world recognises, respects, and remembers,” she said.

Celebrating BAM’s 25th anniversary, Datin Winnie highlighted the association’s long-standing belief  that strong brands are essential for national competitiveness, investment attraction, and export  growth.

A Platform for Growth, Confidence, and Opportunity

Eden Yap, Organising Chairman of Malaysia Brand Day 2026, said the initiative was designed as  a nation-building platform that translates belief into action.

“Malaysia Brand Day is not just another exhibition. It is a national-scale platform where Malaysian  brands stand side by side to show what Malaysians can build — and who Malaysia can become. We  want to steer a movement for Malaysians supporting Malaysian brands, because every brand built by  Malaysians strengthens Malaysia,” he said.

The event focuses on shifting businesses from price-driven competition to brand- and value-driven  growth, while connecting entrepreneurs to capital, investors, buyers, and global markets.

Strong Alignment with National Policy

The opening ceremony was officiated by YB Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Entrepreneur and  Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP) in the presence of senior government leaders and agency  representatives, reflecting strong public–private collaboration. Malaysia Brand Day 2026 aligns closely  with national priorities to empower entrepreneurs, move SMEs up the value chain, and enhance  Malaysia’s global competitiveness.

Malaysia Brand Day complements existing government initiatives by providing a market-facing  platform where policy objectives in entrepreneurship, innovation, branding, and trade promotion are  translated into real business opportunities.

From Event to National Movement

Malaysia Brand Day 2026 features curated brand showcases, leadership dialogues, industry panels,  business matching, and capability-building programmes, enhanced by AI-powered visitor and  exhibitor engagement.

By spotlighting Malaysian brands — from emerging SMEs to established regional and global names — the platform aims to:

• Build consumer confidence in Malaysian brands
• Encourage “support local” behaviour
• Inspire entrepreneurs to invest in branding, innovation, and intellectual property • Position Malaysia as a recognised hub for brand excellence and leadership

The organisers emphasised that Malaysia Brand Day is envisioned as a long-term national movement,  not a one-off event, designed to continuously elevate Malaysian excellence and generate shared  economic value.

Among the brands showcased, ZUS Coffee, recently recognised at the World Branding Awards,  exemplifies a Malaysian brand committed to upholding the highest standards of quality and  operational excellence.
