Wonderful catch-up with multiple award-winning architect Wooi Lok Kuang at his private bungalow which will be coming of age by turning 21 at about the time of the mooncake festival!!!

Lok Wooi tells me I’m the first journalist to profile his bungalow when it was bestowed the PAM Awards 2004’s Gold Award winner. That was a previous lifetime ago when I covered the property, developer, architect & interior design beat on a weekly basis (with my own picture byline too which was a big deal back then, mind you in the great heady days of print)!!!

Arguably one of Malaysia’s most talented and consistent architects for whom ESG was a key feature of his designs even before it became a buzzword today. So yes, Lok Wooi – your house built on the principles of sustainability hasn’t aged an iota since I first interviewed you!!! And, in fact, has become more photogenic with the passing of the years. Best of all, we didn’t even break a sweat despite the video shoot taking place in the mid-afternoon thanks to the cool cross ventilation features of the bungalow!
