MIIP’s President’s message<\/h2>\n
Dear Members,<\/p>\n
The first half of 2024 has passed in the blink of an eye, with so much happening. It has been an exciting six months and MIIP has gained excellent momentum in our pursuit of a more robust and vibrant interior industry. Over the last six months we have had the opportunity to present our members and industry partners with many business networking and collaborative initiatives that have contributed to the betterment of the industry and the outcomes delivered by our members and partners. These efforts are in line with our shared vision to become the leading association, and serving as a cornerstone of strength and authority in the interior builders\u2019 industry.<\/p>\n
Our Value Proposition Statement succinctly embodies MIIP\u2019s essence as a respected industry<\/p>\n
organisation offering invaluable business insights, premier marketing opportunities, and fostering<\/p>\n
networking relationships among interior builders, designers, and suppliers.<\/p>\n
Just to reiterate, our targeted goals for 2023 to 2025 are:<\/p>\n
\n
Membership Growth: Our aim is to double our membership subscription<\/li>\n
Enhanced Visibility: We plan to create Greater awareness of MIIP through strategic networking events, engaging corporate visits, and collaborative initiatives with affiliated associations.<\/li>\n
Recognising Excellence: We are committed to acknowledging the exceptional quality of workand the high level of professionalism exhibited by our members through the MIIP awards.<\/li>\n
Interact with future specifiers, by connecting interior design students in universities and colleges by conducting product presentations and builders construction industry skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Speaking about industry skills, over the last few months, we have held several knowledge transfer and learning sessions that include The Fundamental Roles of Construction Project Manager, Fundamental Of The Installation Of Large Format Thin Tiles Education, Kian Culture Sharing Visit and the SME CEO Forum, among others. MIIP also had a great time with several networking dinners and luncheons to bring members together to share experiences, business ideas and industry know-how. In fact, our networking night in conjunction with our AGM received a great turnout. We also participated in CIDB\u2019s dialogue session entitled \u201cDon\u2019t Fall Victim to Interior Design and Build<\/p>\n
Scam\u201d aimed at eradicating the Interior Builder and Contractor Scams that have happened frequently via social media. Member of parliament YB Teresa Kok Suh Sim and Chief Executive CIDB Dato\u2019 Sr Mohd Zaid Zakaria officially launched the \u201cDon\u2019t fall Victim to Online Renovation Contractor Scam\u201d awareness campaign video. This is a significant step in our fight against fraud and scams in the Industry.<\/p>\n
MIIP was also honoured to be invited to Building Materials Distributors Association of Malaysia\u2019s (BMDAM) 47th Annual Dinner. I had the opportunity to attend this dinner with our Vice President, Jenna Wang. We had a very fruitful evening interacting and networking with industry partners and making MIIP presence more prominent within the industry. MIIP also welcomed delegates from the<\/p>\n
Guangzhou Design Week to Kuala Lumpur for a study visit. The purpose of the meeting was to Explore how we can build a strong bridge of connectivity between MIIP members and our counterparts from Guangzhou Design Week.<\/p>\n
I must say that MIIP is full of members with big hearts \u2013 we organised a visit to the En Yuan Old Folks Home and we had a good turnout. Our members spent some meaningful time with the elderly and brought cheer to 30 residents of the home. It was not only about giving, but also about creating beautiful memories and fostering bonds.<\/p>\n
As we embark on the next six months of 2024, I urge you all our members to take on a more active role in MIIP and be part of our transformative efforts within the industry. Look out for more updates in the weeks ahead. In the words of Nelson Mandela \u201cWe can change the world and make it a better place. It is in our hands to make a difference\u201d, so let\u2019s all do it together!<\/p>\n
