The City of Kuala Lumpur is proud to host the \u201816th International Conference on World Class Sustainable Cities 2025 (WCSC 2025)\u2019<\/em><\/strong> held on Tuesday, 30th September 2025 at the Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Themed \u2018Resilient Cities, Living Heritage\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, this year\u2019s 16th annual series of the \u2018International Conference on World Class Sustainable Cities\u2019 (WCSC) successfully shared, addressed and focused on 3 main sub-themes \u2013 \u2018Culture as Catalyst: Revitalising Urban Identity and Community Life\u2019, \u2018Climate Adaptation & Nature-Based Solutions for Resilient Cities\u2019 and \u2018Smart and Inclusive Technologies for Regenerative Urban Futures\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFirstly, WCSC 2025 Organizing Committee is most honored with the presence of the Guest of-Honor, Y.B. Tuan Nga Kor Ming, Minister of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), Malaysia to officiate the \u2018WCSC 2025 Official Opening Ceremony & Keynote Address\u2019. The Organizing Committee also records its heartfelt gratitude to the Honourable Mayor of Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) for the continued support and official endorsement of WCSC conference. This joint collaboration with DBKL highlights the
significance of public-private partnerships in urban development and planning, and has definitely enabled WCSC series to further innovate and strengthen our strategic partnership towards promoting the future urban resiliency, sustainability and liveability of Kuala Lumpur and other cities in Malaysia,\u201d highlighted Ms Victoria Chua, WCSC 2025 Organizing Chairperson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All cities should cherish and embrace its history and cultural identity as assets towards creating a better planned and sustainable development. The cities of tomorrow need to adopt effective urban planning by integrating Sustainable Development Goals and community engagement into every facet of urban planning in order to accommodate urban growth, safeguard the environment, preserve cultural and natural heritage, and enhance city resilience,\u201d added Ms Victoria Chua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building climate-resilient, net-zero cities and integrating nature-based solutions can be achieved by adopting a holistic, systems-based approach and integrated urban development strategies that takes into account land use planning, technologies, and behavioral changes to achieve sustainability and resilience goals in terms of social, economic and environmental factors for a sustainable and liveable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In support of Malaysia taking on the significant role as Chairmanship for ASEAN for the year 2025, WCSC 2025 has brought together distinguished international and local speakers from ASEAN region and beyond including:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n
